Alaska National Guard Enlisted Association Scholarship Program

About

  • ANGEA has established a scholarship program to assist association members and their dependents in pursuing advanced educational and academic opportunities.

  • Scholarships will be awarded annually for eligible applicants currently attending or who have been accepted for attendance at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school.

  • The scholarship program is open to the following:

    • Alaska Air National Guard ANGEA Members

    • Alaska Army National Guard ANGEA Members

    • Dependents of either Alaska Air or Army National Guard ANGEA members

  • All applicants are evaluated individually based on academic achievement, leadership and citizenship, financial need, and any other information provided within the application.

Alaska National Guard Member Eligibility

A current or retired member of the Alaska National Guard and a current member of ANGEA

Alaska National Guard Dependent Eligibility

A dependent of a current ANGEA member

Application Information

Application Instructions

Please have the following information prepared, prior to beginning the application process:
  1. Items 1, 2, and 3 will be uploaded within the application form.
  2. The files must be in pdf format.
  3. Due to file size limitations, you may upload a maximum of three files, one for each of the areas below.
  4. Please use the following naming convention:
    1. Last name/first initial/(member) ANGEAScholarshipdocs(1, 2, or 3 – to correspond with the item)
    2. Last name/first initial/(dependent) ANGEAScholarshipdocs(1, 2, or 3 – to correspond with the item)

Mandatory Items

  1. A cover letter including the following information: 
    1. Educational and career goals 
    2. Awards, honors, extracurricular activities and organizational involvement 
    3. Statement regarding need for scholarship consideration 
    4. Civic involvement, moral leadership, or other constructive characteristics demonstrating commitment to community, state and/or country.
  2. A copy of most recent transcript(s) (College/University or High School). “Official” transcripts are not required, online and “student copy” transcripts will be accepted.  If high school and college concurrent student, both transcripts are required to be submitted.  If not a high school graduate, a copy of the acceptance letter to the appropriate college must be included.
  3. Letters of Recommendation are accepted but are not required.
  4. Completed application form (below)

Selection Information

The selection of the scholarship recipient is based on the merits of the submitted application.
The decision of ANGEA for the scholarship recipient is final.
Official notification of scholarship recipients will be announced before the ANGEA Annual Conference, with formal awards occurring.
If selected, it is the recipient’s responsibility to notify ANGEA of any institution changes.
